Blue Bee Cider
Blue Bee Cider is Virginia’s first urban cidery, located in Richmond, VA. We respect – but also challenge – the traditions of the craft, uniting past and present to create an experience where all are welcome.
Blue Bee Cider produces a variety of unique ciders made from heirloom apples sourced in the mountains of Virginia and locally sourced fruit. Our ciders are naturally gluten free, range from bone dry to semi-sweet to dessert, and feature both single varietal apples and infusions.

Meet the winemaker:
Taylor Benson
Taylor Benson has served as Head Cidermaker at Blue Bee Cider since 2018 and became co-owner of the business with Mackenzie Smith in 2023. Known for his thoughtful balance of tradition and innovation, Taylor has helped shape Virginia’s cider landscape by introducing creative, high-quality ciders that reflect both craftsmanship and curiosity. Under his direction, Blue Bee Cider has earned recognition from the Good Food Awards, the Virginia Governor’s Cup, and the Great Lakes International Cider & Perry Competition (GLINTCAP), among others. Taylor’s approach is rooted in a deep respect for Virginia-grown fruit and a constant drive to elevate cider as a serious and expressive craft beverage.
