Ingleside Vineyards

Founded in 1980, Ingleside Vineyards is one of the oldest wineries in Virginia. For over forty-five years, our wines have won numerous awards and top honors in state, national and international wine competitions, including the San Francisco International Wine Competition, the London International Wine & Spirit Competition and the Virginia Governor’s Cup Competition. Our European courtyard, wine club and frequent wine events make Ingleside a popular destination for wine lovers.

Meet the winemaker:

Zach

Zach’s interest in wine started in early 2019 while living abroad in Hungary, where he tasted wine for the first time. Upon returning to the U.S. later that year, he wanted to pursue more knowledge about winemaking. He started working at Ingleside in 2020 as harvest help, and became the winemaker after the 2021 harvest. His educational background in Chemistry and Environmental Science made the transition to winemaker rather seamless. Since then, he has dove head first into literature and research, to develop his winemaking style and techniques to continue pushing the boundaries of Virginia winemaking.
