Rappahannock Cellars

Founded in 1999, Rappahannock Cellars is a family-owned, women-led winery in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. What began as a family dream has grown into one of Virginia’s most respected wine estates, guided by a simple belief: world-class wines begin in the vineyard.

Today, sisters Kelly and Teresa carry forward their family’s vision, overseeing a winery dedicated to thoughtful farming, small-lot winemaking, and the remarkable potential of Virginia wine. With vineyards spanning distinctive sites throughout the region, Rappahannock Cellars produces an extensive portfolio ranging from traditional-method sparkling wines and vibrant whites to elegant, age-worthy reds.

The winery is particularly known for Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and sparkling wine, along with expressive Bordeaux varieties that thrive in Virginia’s climate and soils. Each wine is crafted to balance a sense of place with an approachable, food-friendly style.

More than a winery, Rappahannock Cellars has always been rooted in hospitality. Guests are welcomed to the estate in Huntly to enjoy wine overlooking the vineyards and Blue Ridge Mountains, whether discovering Virginia wine for the first time or returning as longtime members of the Rappahannock family.

More than 25 years after its founding, Rappahannock Cellars remains committed to the idea that inspired it from the beginning: to grow exceptional grapes, make distinctive Virginia wines, and create a place where wine brings people together.
